They attempt to collect on debts that are beyond the statute of limitations… I’ve been married for almost a decade. They’ve attempted to collect on a debt that is PRIOR to my marriage. No debt that I pay should have my maiden name attached to it, and if it does it’s well beyond its statute of limitations. It is not legal considering I’ve been married for almost ten years. Know your rights. You will not benefit yourself by paying on a date that is 6-7 years old. Dispute until you make them blue in the face.

I do not owe the debt they are claiming!!! This company likes to ignore the cease and desist letters that they are sent and by doing so they are in violation of the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, nor will they prove that they are licensed to collect across state lines. This company is high predator for trying to collect on debts that are/maybe no longer collectable by state and federal laws. People find out what your state laws are on outstanding debts, most states are 5 to 10 years

Do not call this company. Or if you do, DO NOT PAY THE $1 to have them run your credit as this signs you up for a subscription to Smart Scores which will charge you $24.95 per month. THEY DO NOT TELL YOU THIS. Several people told me to cancel my card immediately after they charged me the $1 but I forgot and sure enough, exactly 1 week after this phone call Smart Scores charged my credit card $24.95. I immediately disputed the charge and canceled my credit card. This debt collectors is a fraud and a scam. Be extremely cautious dealing with them.

First they say I owe 2600 or more, and sent somebody with a court document stating that I was getting sue but no court date, and the person delivering this document give it to a visitor and not me, then run back to his car. I respond as stated in the document and mailed it back. Next I get mail stating my account has been put on a hardship status because I only get social security disability but in order for them to do so they needed more info. Supposedly this is now a law firm out of Texas. I called which is like a call center and was told I needed to send them a copy of my social security information. I asked if I could get a copy of details relating to this account, because all I have is you telling me I owe you and I don’t have a clue. They all sound foreign, never can get a direct answer, but want to get hands on my account information or better yet keep asking me to send a payment to some random account. Scammers
My question is, where is the lawyer, and why if being sue can’t I speak with the law firm secretary or the lawyer himself. It’s like a group sitting at a call center that don’t speak English very well and making all types of demands. They say it was for a Dell computer. That’s been over 10 years ago. Besides I don’t recall purchasing a computer for 2600 or more from Dell. This needs to be looked into.

Beware of LVNV Funding! They placed a fraudulent account on my credit report, and when I provided a police report proving it was fraud, they refused to allow me to dispute it. Instead of following the law under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), they continued trying to collect on an account that was opened fraudulently.

This company engages in shady practices, ignores legal consumer rights, and causes financial harm to innocent people. If you’re dealing with them, file complaints with the FTC, CFPB, and your state Attorney General! Don’t let them get away with it!

Revived a debt more than 7 years old and reported it as being recent. Going to court tomorrow to destroy them in any way I can. I never had the original debt to begin with, it was a late fee from a account that was closed, that went to collections.

First off they send my parents a collection notice. It was for ā€œmeā€ they wouldn’t provide documentation supporting the debt because they want to pull $1.00 from your bank account to ā€œsay what it’s forā€, so they have the access to scam you. If a collection really was after you they would have facts on it not running a fake report for a dollar. Normal service charge fees are $2.00 and up in general just for a cc ran. Then the lady asked if we wanted her personal ph #. Please don’t fall for this!
