My family and I just spent a week at Litchfield By The Sea. There were 20 of us who rented four separate condos on the beach. Three families rented through James Smith Real Estate and one family through The Dieter Company. What a stark difference in the upkeep and cleanliness of the these two property management companies. We were disappointed and appalled with the condition of the condos we rented through James Smith; moldy shower curtains, filthy dust hanging from fan vents in the bathroom, cobwebs everywhere, stained dirty furniture and carpets, wall baseboards stained with dirt, refrigerator not cleaned, ice maker not working, no hot water and I can go on and on. When I called the office and asked how often they do a deep clean, I was told "once or twice a year". What?!!
I am writing this review on behalf of all my family members, but also want others to be aware. We have been coming to Litchfield by the Sea for over 25 years and understand properties age and become worn. But such filth is not acceptable or excusable.
We have vowed not to use James Smith Real Estate ever again.

I know I have reviewed this fabulous company somewhere and just have to here, because first: Everyone there I've met has been so kind and helpful to me any time I have called. They are pure class! They are good people who care about helping others, and they have the knowledge and contacts to do so which is important to me and equally important to anyone signing up with them to rent or sale .... and to renters and buyers. To work with honest people who care is a bit rare these days, so do yourself a favor and talk to them. Second: They can and do get your house rented full season ... or sold I'm sure. I can't begin to say all I could to praise this company and the people.

We HIGHLY recommend Neil Geisler. We are from out of state and Neil helped us find our dream vacation home in Pawleys Island.
