Current tenant. The lady up front is very nice but unfortunately it doesn’t make up for everything we’re going through living here. When we moved in the dish washer was broken and the apartment was half cleaned when we moved in despite us paying a refurbishment fee. It took them a month to bring us a new dishwasher and when they finally did it was filled with roaches and now we have an infestation in our apartment. We asked for our apartment to be sprayed it was never taken care of and now we have to wait another 2 weeks for it to be taken care of while the infestation just gets worse and worse. Not to mention my car has been broken into while living here and other cars too.While the rent price is fair I would never recommend anyone live here.

I lived at Ashton Mill apartments in 2019-2021. I would rate those 2 years as terrible. During that time my car was broken into, when I did have an emergency and actually called 911 they were unable to get into the gate at all (how does emergency service not have their own code entry) I had random maintenance man come to my door at midnight showing no credentials no proof he worked for the apartments try to gain entry to my apartment. When I called front desk nothing was done not even any type of apology for the lack of notice. There’s are only a few dog poop bag stations through out the property if there isn’t one right outside of someone’s building they will leave there dog poop there. Getting packages delivered is an awful process just be ready to pick most packages at post office. Last the amenities when I first got there I called front desk let them know 1 of the treadmill and other cardio machine was broke and unusable it never got fixed. Additionally the pool is only open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. If your single active duty military (sorry your stationed at Shaw) but I highly advise getting a roommate and staying in a nicer apartment in the area.

Lived here from 2015 to 2018, arguably the worst apartment manager I've ever dealt with. Not to mention poor maintenance and that garbage front gate that almost never worked. Our cars were broken into several times. The pool was basically a bath tub, and the gym was a closet. It was cheap notice I said cheap and not affordable. If you value not having a horrible apartment manager don't even bother. Hopefully they fired the lady. I had to come back just to leave this review because till this day I have never lived in a place this bad. If you're military please go elsewhere Shaw is a rough enough base you shouldn't have to come home to this apartment complex and it's many shortcomings.

Horrible management!!!

It’s very frustrating when you can’t get simple task completed. Don’t bother calling the front desk because they rarely answer. When you do get an answer they always have an attitude. Today she hung up in my face, I did not raise my voice or anything.

If you have a maintenance issue it’s better to have a 3rd party to take care of it. I’ve left over ten voicemails with the past couple of months and no one has returns my calls. Last week I found out the line wasn’t even recorded so I was just basically wasting my time leaving messages.

Pest control is not included so you have to put in work orders just to get your apartment serviced. No matter how clean you keep you there still will be spiders and palmetto bugs.

Please read previous reviews and keep that in mind before moving into these apartments. There are plenty of options in Sumter!!

*Edit- the district manager wasn’t willing to help with my request but gave great advice on how to move out the apartment complex…. Three years of never missing a rent payment just to have 1 out of 6 maintenance request answered *

I wish I could give them a 0. While the price is great, the property manager Gail is beyond rude and unprofessional. We paid a 300 dollar refurbishing fee and the place needed to be vacuumed (spiders and ants in the corners). There was hair on the bathroom sink, stained carpet, and bugs in the bathtub. When I asked about getting the floor vacuumed she told me she would SEE if it needed to be vacuumed and would do it whenever she got time. She then told me I could take or leave the apartment (I moved everything out). As I was walking out she then came up to vacuum (after my fiance called and told her we weren't staying in the apartment). I told her that she was unprofessional and she told me she wasn't and told me to go pick up the check. I understand nicer apartments are limited in Sumter, but that doesn't give anyone a right to talk down to you. It's not like the apartment was free. If you can't take time to vacuum, then if something really needs to be done I doubt she'd be in a hurry to get it done. If I didn't pay a refurbishing fee, I would have vacuumed myself. Either way she was incredibly rude and the least bit helpful.

Please do not bother wasting your money on these apartments. I have lived here for not even a full year & already have had multiple issues with them fixing ANYTHING. Especially my air conditioner when it’s 80-90+ degrees outside. Took them a whole week & probably 20 calls & maybe 4 office visits before they came & “fixed” it, just for it to break again the next morning and we then had to wait another 3 days for them to fix it while my apartment was nearly 80 degrees. & then a week later, my air is out again & they are still taking forever to send people out. They are all very rude as well.

This apartment complex has got to be one of the worst I’ve ever lived in. My fire line above my laundry room broke twice and when they came to fix it flooded my kitchen. My kitchen sink has been broken for two months and they haven’t sent nobody to fix it and I have to wash dishes in my bathtub. My guess bathroom bathtub leaks when the shower is on. You can’t get a hold of the front office ladies you have to call Florence. And there’s only two maintenance man for three apartment complexes. I do not recommend this place.

Huntington Place is AWFUL. They charge you $300 refurbishing fee and don't even fix ANYTHING, as soon as I moved in I noticed huge soft spots in the floor, mold, my balcony is rotting, HORRID paint in the bathroom (it's literally peeling off), and holes in the doors and walls that were poorly plastered over. Within 2 months of me being there, a pipe burst in my laundry room and it took them TWO DAYS to figure out where it was coming from. My poor downstairs neighbor was getting leaked on from a leak she told me was sprung up 5 times in the 11 Years she's lived there. When they finally did fix it, after days of constant phone calls up to the office, they left a 3ftx3ft hole in my wall (which is FILLED with black mold from water damage) that they covered with a 3ftx2ft piece of scrap dry wall. And I've had a better experience than most of the neighbors I've spoken to. I've heard and seen everything from tenants having to get rid of THEIR OWN washer and dryer because it's flooding their neighbors kitchen, to pipes bursting only for maintenance to pull up ALL of the carpet and have them walk on bare sub-flooring, to black mold filling bathtubs, sinks, and showers daily despite constant cleaning, to them literally walking in on tenants in their underwear WITHOUT KNOCKING. The management is (or at least was) extremely rude, Gail is literally the devil, and you can tell that the maintenance HATES their jobs and are over-worked to Hell and back. I would not be surprised if prison housing has better reviews and overall living conditions than Huntington Place Apartments, and from what I hear from the next complex over, Ashton Mills Apartments are heading in the same direction. If you love your family and your health, DO NOT RENT THESE APARTMENTS.
