My husband and I first visited the Shepherds Run late October of 2023. We spent the day at the winery and enjoyed the ambiance very much. The staff was so welcoming and accommodating, they truly stood out from any other winery we’ve attended. We knew we needed to come back! It was the perfect stop before heading 30 minutes into Newport.

This time, fast forward a year and a half later, we decided to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. In addition to the winery, we stayed at the inn, which far exceeded our expectations. The room was super cozy, to say the least it was very hard to leave. We started the morning with a delicious breakfast and made our way to the Petite Retreat spa to enjoy some R&R. I have so much more to say, but I want to leave you with some room for wonder.

The Shepherds Run deserves more than ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!

Everything about the Inn was perfect for my needs. I went for a solo weekend stay and it was fantastic. Every employee I interacted with was so lovely and helpful. The space is gorgeous and feels like a modern take on French countryside aesthetic. My room was clean and comfortable and included with your stay you get a free glass of their wine daily(delicious), complementary breakfast and access to any of their yoga classes. I did yoga both days and the instructors were really great.||It would be a great destination for a girls weekend or couple's getaway. Already planning to go back for their "petite retreat" to celebrate my mom's birthday in May!

Loved our time here!! The inn was clean, beautifully decorated, and everyone was so kind. Gianmarco gave us great recs and was so helpful. We loved our day at Body + Mind. Hot yoga, hot tub, massages were great. Gem was the best at the spa!! Farm
fresh breakfast was the cherry on top. Hospitality was great, good local spots in the area and not too far from Newport. Overall, great experience, will definitely be back

This was our first time here looking at this venue for our wedding. Even being winter with no flowers, greenery, or the vineyard, this place was beautiful. So we can only imagine what it looks like in the prime months. We got a tour from Jackie, who is the wedding coordinator here, and wow did she know her stuff. By the end of the tour we had no questions because she hit every single little topic, in detail. From the catering to the linens, she explained everything very well. She was a wonderful wealth of knowledge and you can tell she has been in this industry for a long time. The facility is gorgeous, all rooms were stunning, the gym and pool looked awesome, and she even let us look at the newly renovated rooms for overnight stays. Which they looked great. Especially the showers. Over all the wedding venue tour and detailed information give was excellent. We look forward to potentially booking our wedding here in the near future.

We stayed in the suit in the manor. Omg beyond beautiful! The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever experienced! Could use a bigger trash barrel but that is my only complaint 🙂 the breakfast in the morning was amazing! The glass of complimentary wine each evening was a wonderful touch. Although the massage is expensive it was fantastic. I had Trish and def would request her again! Can’t wait to come back!

The bed was so comfortable. The wine tasting with little cheese, crackers etc. perfect for two people and so reasonably priced. Foot treatment superb and young women so professional. Will be going back this summer. |Man at breakfast beyond charming and knowledgeable about the grounds that were once home to the Sisters of Cross and Passion.

One night stay in early December 2024 as a "splurge" for a birthday. Surprised at the stark simplicity of the room. This place is a converted convent and the room still had that vibe. Bathroom was nice - except for the shower which suffered from low pressure and volume. Bed was very comfortable and we slept great despite the heavy feet clomping around the room above. For $367, we expected a much better breakfast. The spread would be greatly improved if the dishes meant to be warm when eaten were actually sitting on warming units. They were probably great (warm & soft) when they were first set out, but were almost cool and no longer soft for us.
It is painfully obvious that this facility is totally focused on weddings and that the average traveler is regarded more as an afterthought who can fill an empty room and provide some ancillary revenue. We most likely won't be back.

We did not stay here so I cannot rate the rooms. A shirt tour of the place revealed a beautiful building, meticulously cared for and lovely outdoor setting. The food was fantastic and service was impeccable. The wine a little expensive but very good. This place is worth a stop.
