Buying your first home is as intimidating as everyone makes it out to be. For most people, including my wife and I, there is a deluge of words and concepts you don't encounter in daily life, and it's probably the most expensive thing you've ever bought. In our case, we didn't even have an area to live in picked out (we work remotely, northeastern seaboard was our criteria). In the first conversation with Ben, I mentioned we were looking in MA, CT, RI, NY, MD, VA, NC and maybe some others. MortgageCS does not work in a number of those states. That didn't matter. From that first conversation onward, Ben and Alec and the whole MortgageCS crew helped us get educated, worked through different scenarios, and gave us feedback without ever knowing if they'd even be working with us on the actual mortgage. So when the opportunity arose for a home in an area that they were available as a broker, it was a no-brainer.

I don't want to undersell how amazing they were once we got into the loan process. We lucked into a new construction, and the builder had a preferred lender. I remember the first conversation with the builder rep, who made a point to say that they often see buyers get screwed over by the lender and end up paying fees for lateness (which are percentage points on the mortgage total, so not chump change). "9 out of 10 lenders don't get it done" was the quote. Not only did MortgageCS get us a great rate, at a workable monthly payment in time...they also did it even when we moved closing up 2 weeks to get in the house sooner! MortgageCS isn't just the 1 out of 10 lenders that got it done, they're probably 1 in a million for making the entire experience clear, pain-free, and successful. My wife and I cannot thank them enough!
