I bought 40 yards of loam from them, the first 20 was not too bad, had some crap in it , the second 20 was garbage, stones, glass, wood pieces, and grubs... I would not ever buy from them again, my friends warned me about them too....

Ordered 12 yards of top soil/loam from SP in the fall to re-level my lawn. Pre-positioned piles to make spreading things in the spring easier. The soil delivered is full of rocks and broken glass. Definitely not what i ordered and certainly mostly un-usable. Such a sham

We bought loam from this company. After a lot of calling different companies, we found them to have the best price around. The quality of the loam was better than some we had purchased last year from a popular local facility that was more expensive. fantastic service! the guy who came to deliver my mulch today was super friendly and very nice! the whole process was quick and easy. the prices are quite reasonable compared to the other places around! i would definitely recommend! when i ordered the mulch on the phone, the guy on the phone was very friendly as well! it was super easy and straight forward to order, and would definitely do it again! anytime i need mulch or dirt or anything for the yard, this is the place to go!!

I ordered loam and not only were they unable to leave it on my driveway. I had to dispute my credit card because they did not issue me a refund and charged me twice!...I'm still waiting for my credit card to resolve this. I have them on camara so not worried but i have had other companies bring my soil before and never had an issue! Its not my fault they couldn't leave the dirt behind and it looks like they are taking it out in me! I wouldn't recommend doing business with this company, their behavior in extremely unprofessional and shows that they do not provide good service! If it happened to me it can easily happen to you, dont say no one warned you!

I reached out to Smithfield Peat back in late March for a quote on fill while i was undergoing the purchase of my wife and I’s first home. After a longer than planned closing, I finally reached back out this week to setup the delivery for the fill that we needed.

I decided to call after being told they couldn't make the delivery that day with no explanation or offer of another date. Ive provided screenshots of my conversation with Jackson at Smithfield Peat to this review, as I just got off the phone being berated by him for 3 minutes over a clear misunderstanding of sarcasm- obviously their drivers are all very skilled otherwise they wouldn't have the high quality reputation they hold.

I have highlighted the “insult” that caused the misunderstanding. I was told that he wont be making the delivery because I “insulted his intelligence” by including “haha” in my email. Then proceeded to tell me “your first problem is you couldn't understand the concept of tonnage to yards, its like I was talking to my hand” and that he had to “drag information out of me” he also told me “ I can smell a problem coming up; find some other idiot to bring you your delivery, not me”.

I will be taking his advice for sure.

Pulled into parking lot for some loam. The office personnel proceeded inside and locked the door two hours early. Would not answer the phone. No acknowledgement at all. A 30 minute drive that I won't make again.
