Update March 2022: ⭐️ ⭐️
I am updating this review to a two-star review because I was asked twice to do so and because the previous Property Manager is no longer with NPG.
In 11/2021, the building was sold and Northeast no longer manages the building. The felled tree was removed by the new owners.
Hopefully, NPG is a better and more professional organization at this time, but this review is based on my experience from 1/2020 to 10/2021.
UpdateJune 2021: ⭐️
Rating reduced. Major safety concern that impacted the entire building, violated the CT Landlord Responsibilities and the communication around this event was poor, at best. It took four days to resolve. At this point, my mother worries about me living here.
May 2021: ⭐️⭐️
Why two stars? First, because 2.5 stars isn’t an option. Second, while the building itself has charm, the owner/management company have tasks related safety that need to be addressed. Some concerns have been ignored for nearly a year. Charm and location do not trump safety and respect.
The building: nice pre-war apartment, with charming features like a fireplace, hard wood floors, and French doors. Kitchen has not been modernized. Convenient location, close to West Hartford Center, with a bus stop right outside. Four closets, which is extremely generous for a building of this era. Heat & hot water included.
NPG is good with snow removal. The landscaping is done regularly, although there are often nip bottles and food wrappers around the property. Work orders asking for the yard to be tidied up are often ignored. Also, there has been a felled tree in the front yard for at least seven months; quite a disappointing eyesore. No clue why it is there, no clue if it will ever be removed. After a large state-wide storm, storm debris has sat for over two weeks. I even explained the “broken windows theory,” but it didn’t make a difference. I moved here when a different company managed the building and I loved it here. Now, it is a cute, little apartment in a decent building.
This review improved from a one star because I was asked to re-consider my review, complete with a suggested new score, a five. This is not a five star place to live. While NPG has made some gestures around improvements, I considered some of the building’s features in this assessment. Also, property manager has recently been more attentive with communications. Actual “work” in the building needs to be done before a better review is earned.
Original review in 2020: ⭐️
I made my first review after complaining for about seven months that the hallways were not being vacuumed and cleaned regularly. I took countless, time and date stamped pictures, clearly showing the accumulation of dirt, cobwebs and debris and submitted regular maintenance requests. I have since given up. To be clear, the common areas are not tended to and they are often embarrassingly dirty; the front hallways are vacuumed about twice a year and the back hallways are cleaned less often than that. I pay my rent without multiple requests, so it is disheartening that Northeast Property Group doesn’t follow the same model for monthly or even bi-monthly cleaning, simply because it is a good business standard or come
out to the property to see the problems for themselves.

The comments below are based on my 15 years of first hand experience residing on a property managed by Northeast Property Group.
The property is run very well. Everything seems to happen automatically with very little interaction required by the residents. All the maintenance that is required just happens. We receive timely notification for everything from pressure washing to when weed killer is put on the lawns. In 15 years I made one request to have a broken parking lot light repaired. The repair was completed in less than 48 hours after request. The funny thing is I never had to make another request for the lights to be repaired. All lights are always lit. I know those bulbs don't last forever so someone must be keeping an eye on the lighting.
If you who read this take a few minutes to read through the Northeast Property Group website. The time spent will give a very accurate representation of Northeast Property. I can say from my own 15 years of experience that the Northeast Property website is a very accurate representation. It's a good company run by good people.
Northeast Property Group lives the meaning of the word goodwill.
If you are trying to choose a Property Management company I give a very high recommendation for Northeast Property Group.

They manage my building and they are awful at it. I moved into a luxury building several years ago. Approximately three years ago Northeast took over the management of the building. Ever since, the building is on a fast decline and it’s starting to affect the property value. Repairs are done incorrectly, the safety of the building has diminished; the manager does not respond to calls or emails. I look forward to moving out as quickly as possible. Do not use this company.

There has been significant improvement in communication, availability and respect over the last year from NE Properties

Though there are plentiful high rating reviews this isn’t one of them. NEPG has been continually disappointing in maintenance of the Thermos on the Thames building. We experience leaks into our condo unit almost every time it rains, we have put in maintenance request and they took over 2 months to take action about it(screenshots attached.) There is minimal effort to prioritize safety of walk ways and parking lot during snow and icy conditions. On multiple occasions I’ve emailed the prop mgr about lack of salt and sanding on iced over hill residents have to use to access vehicles. To their credit, corrective action was taken shortly after bringing up this issue each time. Also worth mentioning is that we are continually facing delays of finishing of our parking lot, relayed to us by prop mgr.

Weird how they're so on top of replying to these comments but you can't get an answer out of them for weeks when you have an actual issue..Worry more about your clientele and you wouldn't have to worry so much about combating bad reviews!
You do know there's no way to respond to your replies on here right? I would love to escalate this to the owner if anyone would ever respond. I'd be happy to post screenshots of all of my calls, e-mails, and messages that were never replied to if you'd like? Or the ones where it took 3 weeks and 4 requests to repair my broken stair after the first response .. Just sent one yesterday actually to that address, no response, although you were on here responding to reviews oddly just hours later.

Been here in our condo for 17 years now and have had nothing but good experiences here with Northeast Properties. The maintenance workers are incredibly professional and always go above and beyond when we have needed any help! And Chris has been awesome as well! Very grateful to be here!

It’s been a pleasure working with Scott from North East Properties Group. This is my first time renting a house and he’s making what I thought would be stressful very easy. He’s always available when needed and very open to bouncing ideas to get the best product and how some fine tuning should be done. If he’s not available he’ll communicate and let me know when he is.
When it comes to contract writing and I asked should we add this, he’s always one step ahead of me and makes sure I’m covered. I recommend everyone looks to reaching out tho North East Properties Group and have a conversation and it’s very easy to know they’re the right ones.
