He quickly got everything together and we were able to close 10 days after we were in contact with him. I cannot thank Patrick enough for everything he did for us. He is very knowledgeable and always happy to answer any questions at any time of day. We were told by a few different mortgage companies that closing so quickly would be impossible, but Patrick was able to do it no problem. While everything from the start seemed great, after finally closing on our home we have had nothing but issues. We went with Thompson Kane as a local mortgage lender in hopes of having more hands on and helpful experience for our first time purchasing a home. Prior to our first mortgage payment being due, Thompson Kane sold our loan to a larger lender company. Our only communication regarding this was a single email stating it was being sold. We were left stumped and had to reach out to understand what that meant, especially considering we hadn't made a payment yet.

We were simply referenced back to the initial missed email, and told we needed to work with this new mortgage lender from here on out. I now understand this is a very common practice, but at the time I was left feeling confused with a lost sense of trust. To further exacerbate that feeling, the mortgage lender they sold to had a major data breach two weeks later. While this is of no fault of Thompson Kane, it's truly unfortunate that this sale has now completely compromised our personal information, including our social security card numbers. We have now had endless letters and calls due to this serious data breach. Thompson Kane never reached out about this revelation, so we have been left navigating this event in a frenzy with this new massive lender.

Lastly, with this sale of the mortgage, we being naive first time homeowners assumed all the correct information would have been transferred over. Once again, we were met with a letter in the mail that our new lender would be purchasing home owners insurance on our behalf because they had no record of any insurance we had purchased. We were again met with confusion and panic, as we just purchased insurance and had everything squared away until the new lender purchased it.

While I know many of these issues were not at a direct fault of Thompson Kane, our communications with them through this beyond challenging transition as our local lender has been non existent. We might as well have went through one of the large lenders to begin with in order to avoid all of this chaos and panic as first time homeowners.

So, between the sale of our mortgage before our first payment, to a massive data breach of the purchasing company, to inaccurate information being transferred, I don't think I would recommend Thompson Kane as a mortgage lender.

Thompson Kane has been amazing to work with. When we were looking to get preapproved for a certain amount to buy our first home, we originally went with my bank. However, they tried to change the conditions of our loan and almost made us lose the house. Our realtor recommended Thompson and Kane and said that he also used them for his personal loan with his family home. We communicated with them and they gave us a great deal and closing. We are VERY happy with our experience with them and look forward to paying off our 30 year loan in 30 years!
