The mortgage process started out smoothly and the local contact Rafford was great. Somewhere in the process of obtaining the mortgage DSLD must have changed the loan approval person in Baton Rouge (home base). Whitney was not organized with the paperwork requirements. This became very important to us because we were staying 1.5 hrs away and did not have access to a scanner nor a lot of the papers being required.
We were waiting for the loan approval and house completion so important papers and such were in storage. It was a process to get the required information needed for loan approval and this was explained many times. We would get the papers and bring to the office locally and the next day get an email for additional documents. Very frustrating. If Whitney was in training then maybe DSLD should have had someone precepting her and there should be a list of required documents for this process.

As a long time Homeowner, buying and selling 14 homes during the past 30 years, I found this mortgage lender extremely below average in their pursuit of documents and coordination. Although it took forever to get the approval (why I don’t know), after getting the formal loan approval, the evening before my closing, they let me know they wouldn’t fund me until my current house closed, which it did the same day.
The stress they put me through was unnecessary.
They do not have the experience or knowledge to lend.
On a positive note, working with Tristan and Patricia helped smooth the otherwise ridiculous rough road.
If I could give zero stars, I would.
