Run!!!! Worst financial transaction of my life. Took 16 months to build my home. Jon literally told me at the 6 month mark when we were finally getting the foundation poured “he just hadn’t gotten to my home”. I am a military member who told them that from the beginning I would be homeless if the house wasn’t ready. The assured me they could build it in the 6 month timeline “they” created. They literally played with dirt for 5 months. Later we found out this is their norm. They get people under contract drag their feet and push them to let them out of the contract so they can turn around and sell the home for more. During the 16 months several homes were completed that were options for us when we chose our lot. Jon and Christine are the most unethical and cheap “custom” builders possible. They do the bare minimum, the only thing “custom” about their homes is the fact you can change the size of rooms if you get a lot from scratch. After that their selections for options are laughable. And if you don’t like their options they up charge everything. For an example I asked for paddle switches instead of regular switches, they quoted me almost 1k to do it. When I asked them how they came up with price they basically told me if I don’t like it I don’t have to do it. Their were several other times when I asked for explanations and they attempted to explain their prices they would send me incorrect math. When you call them on it they say “well you don’t have to do it”. They tried to charge me $600 for ME to pick up and deliver tile that I found that was better then all of their options.

After all this is said and done we got to our walk through and the craftsmanship is HORRIBLE. They clearly do not take price in their work. The grading of the home is horrible, the paint job is horrible, the tiling is horrible, the installed damaged doors/trim etc. If I can I will attach some photos or you are welcome to reach out.

I say again RUN!!! Do not do business with Jon or Christine.

Very interesting response. It wouldn’t allow me to respond to the original comment so I do apologize for a double review.

In response to “you offered to get out of the contract 5 months into” yes you did 5 months into a 6 month build. But you also said if I stayed in the build would be done in 2 months. 2 months came and went then you added 5 more months, came and went then. Then it was 3 more months. Congratulations you offered me to start from scratch and have to pay substantially more for a home even at the 5 month point. While you would have made more money with me getting out. The worse part of the whole thing is that you just continued to lie about the new dates and continued to purposely drag your feet. End of the day it benefited you, not me for me to get out of contract. And if you want to lie about supplies and weather go ahead. I have record of the weather and of you saying the materials were there. While you you continued to build and finish other homes in reasonable timeframes mine took 16 months. Other homes finished before mine that started after mine. Supplies nor weather were the issue you were and your way of doing business sir.

Also, yes the issues were absolutely noted at the 3 walk throughs we did and all were half a** fixed. And there is record if you want to continue telling these inaccuracies. We even had a survival clause that you breached. The only reason we didn’t press on the poor quality of work as hard as we could have was because we had been homeless for over a year. After the closing there have been been multiple things you’ve been supposed to fixed and havent. You cabinet person ignores fixing anything, your plumber never fixed the dishwasher install. The garage floods I had to buy gutters to try and mitigate that. Even though youve continued to say you are going to build a French drain. Sir, at this point it’s not worth going back and forth with you anymore. I hope you have a blessed day but everything I stated before and now are 100% fact. And all the excuses you’ve stated are just that excuses and I have evidence to negate your rebuttals. I hope you’ve gotten better but everybody needs to be aware of what they are getting into with Jon’s custom homes.

This was the best experience I have ever had with constructing my new home. I recommend it to everybody. They are extremely organized and Jon himself is a very kind man. Any comments, questions and concerns I had, he would always come back with the most accurate responses.

The home was a new build and will be 1 yr old in December. The craftsmanship is shoddy and the finishing details were never completed. Company is unresponsive to homebuyer communication attempts. I do not recommend.

my husband and I recently built our forever home with Christine and Jon...wonderful experience they went above and beyond...We love our house, the workmanship is superb, Christine has a great eye for detail ....My kitchen is amazing...
