This lender caused me a lot of stress during my home sale. My home went under contract February 14. I was told a March 19 that all paperwork had been processed and was ready to order appraisal. April 12 was the closing date on contract. April 3 I was told there was a small issue with the IRS with the buyer and they had to file some paperwork but it was no big deal and we would close on time. The week before closing the appraisal still hadn’t been ordered and I was told that this lender had been in a car accident but then a couple days later she said she couldn’t talk because she was on a train in Birmingham. But she said she could get an appraisal done in 24 hours which my realtor said was impossible. She apparently doesn’t have enough staff to hand cases off to other coworkers either. The day before intended closing I was told that the buyer had filed chapter 13 bankruptcy and we had to wait on some court order to be cleared before any appraisal could be ordered. They said they were on day 16 of a 21 day waiting period. So this lender knew the whole time that I wouldn’t be able to close on time and that the appraisal wouldn’t be done on time and couldn’t even be ordered until after the bankruptcy was cleared but continued to lie about closing on time. She claimed she couldn’t tell the buyers personal info to my realtor, but it’s completely unethical to lie and say we would close on time when she knew we couldn’t and wouldn’t. This was all on my dime as the seller. I’ve never seen such unprofessional conduct. go with someone honest and ethical and someone with the manpower to answer your phone calls and not give you the runaround. I understand not being able to reveal buyers personal info but lying about closing on time when she knew we wouldn’t was completely wrong.
