I love Rock Point! I live in one of their downtown apartments and I couldn't ask for a better apartment building. I have lived in another complex in the downtown Tuscaloosa area and most simply do not live up to the management and maintenance that Rock Point delivers. When I was looking for another apartment, my top priority was safety since most of my items were stolen at my past apartment, after what was assumed by a staff member. After almost two years with Rock Point, I will honestly say I have never had a weird incident or felt uneasy with anyone around the building or most importantly the staff members. Management and the maintenance workers are prompt and friendly with every encounter and they make you feel like you're part of the "Rock Point family". The only downside I have, is getting packages from UPS is almost impossible. I am not sure why they can not get inside the building but setting up an alternative location for pick up would be best. And this might be an UPS issue not management. But tracking the packages are simply a must.

I lived at their Pride Court Property for four years and I can't really complain. The parking situation did get bad and I would call them to have the lot towed but they only followed through two times. The only thing the complex has going for it is location and that it's been kind of updated. The wiring and roof in building four (the one with the mailbox) are bad and Comcast had to drop my cable through my bedroom window for a few weeks. The roof had a leak and it caused mold to grow on my bedroom wall and it caused the paint around my window to peel.

Maintenance is good if you have the maintenance guy's number, if not then nothing will get fixed. The gates are worthless and might as well not even be there. Pest control only showed up sporadically when I lived there. The water in the pool was very opaque the first two years I lived there, then they started actually maintaining it.

Don't expect to get your security deposit back; I was charged for some pretty miniscule details like the glass dome from a ceiling fan (I was charged $40 for this even though the ceiling fan costs $35 itself. I reported it to them the day I moved in), mold and peeling paint that I actually reported, and a shelf that was installed by the builder.

My cousin also rented from Rock Point and lived at Campus Square and Windemere. In the Windemere apartment, my cousin's stove wasn't working properly and they refused to address the problem until my uncle visited their office. My cousin and his roommate had bats living in a hole in the side of Campus Square and Rock Point never fixed it until my aunt wrote them a letter threatening to call the health department.

Overall I liked living at Pride Court. As I said before, it's mainly the location that attracted me to it, like most of their properties. However, Rock Point is just like every other rental company in Tuscaloosa. They're mainly interested in the money, they don't really care about much else.

My daughter rented a unit from ROCK POINT REALTY and am totally dissatisfied with their handling of the returned security deposit. Know that the unit had dust on fan blades and on the filter return. There were other charges as well that were pitiful(coat hangers in the closet, a ring in the toilet bowl since it sat vacant for two months). I could go on and on but they have made their mind up and I would not recommend them to anyone!!
The property Pride Court was in horrible shape. The wind blew through the aluminum framed windows as an example of quality. At $6000 for one year for one bedroom it was BAD. Look at the pride they take in the front door.

Rockpoint Rental is a terrible company to rent from. They barely respond to maintenance requests, send maintenance people to your house making tons of noise at 9 am unannounced, and send tours to the house without an agent. They will also hold your security deposit citing nonexistent damage. They also absolutely embellish repair prices attempting to milk every cent out of you. STAY AWAY!

I was reasonable when a odor problem was apparent in apt. I was patient over the course of 5 months while, management trouble shooted the source of the rank smell. management did not have to live with or experience the odor. nor did they have to deal with the multiple people who were dispatched to solve the odor. constantly interrupting my studies. Stay away from this place, for the money, you should be treated better and the apt should smell like new. not an old sewer. when I requested a discount for the months of inconvenience ROCK POINT caused me, I was told they would adhere to the signed lease, no compensation would be given or considered. in other words ROCK POINT does not care about you only the money....total disappointment and dissatisfaction...you have been warned.

$30 to throw out a couple of cleaning supplies accidentally left under the sink? $5 for an envelope and stamp? I’m not even going to comment on the other charges. Simply ridiculous. The property was left in better condition than when it was rented.

The list of fees deducted from the security deposit are excessive and inflated.

If you rent from here expect a poorly maintained property and don't expect to receive a full refund on your security deposit. Also make sure you do a very thorough walk through before move-in and note every small item you see and take photographs to document the deficits found. Don't trust that the property management company will behave ethically.

Almost too mad to write a review. I signed a lease for my son at UA for June 2016 thru May 2017 for UA apartment thru Rock Point Rentals. I had to pay first and last rent, security deposit as expected. Signed the lease which is noted to say last rent Month rent is paid in full with move out date first of May. Well, over fall break....they must have decided to put notices on everyone's doors! My son just got back from being on fall break to find a letter on his door To hurry up and sign a terminination lease agreement and that all tenants must agree to do this....and vacate as of Dec 23 2016! The windmere 1 and 2 buildings were planned on being torn down at the end of May in order to rebuild nicer condos/etc. We were told this and only signed a 10 month lease which we were fine with.....however, the lovely note said we will give you your security deposit back (well, I would get that Back in May 2017 regardless as he has taken very good care of his apartment)...and a "$500 relocation" check if he agreed to vacate the premises! I just re-read our lease and it specifically says that if the Landlord needs to relocate the tenant-they will provide a comparable place...he will be in the middle of the year...homeless if he signs this unless we can get him a new place to live in the middle of the year! In what...2 months! Housing is tight and I am sooo upset. A DEAL IS A DEAL in my book but apparently not with this place! And a note! They could have had the courtesy to call a tenant housing meeting....these are college kids! Plus...no mention of getting last months rent back or applying it to December, etc. If we had broken the lease-it would have cost at least $5000 as our lease says if we back out--we are still expected to pay the entire rent from June to May! Not sure how to proceed but I told my son NOT to sign that lease agreement until I research this further!

Warning... thes are poorly run apartments. You will NOT get your secirty deposit back. The place was spotless and they still charged them $600 to clean it. $5 envelope to send meager despit back is laughable. Wish we would have read these review first!
