We were dreading the process of finding a realtor as we were searching to buy. Thankfully, we ended up with Joan, and the experience couldn't have been more different! We were quite impressed with her thoughtful approach and her flexibility, as she stayed in constant contact with us. She was extremely knowledgeable about the specific areas where we were searching - down to details about the streets! When we finally fell in love, we were dismayed to discover that the house had 10 other offers, but Joan stayed calm and gave us a lot of thoughtful strategic advice. She even gave us some seed packets to celebrate when we closed on the home, a sweet personal touch given how excited we are about gardening – and we’re proud to announce that the first seedlings are as happy in their home as we are. We first started working with Joan in the Spring of 2020, just as the pandemic was getting started. Right away, she started showing us houses, but we decided that we needed to wait until our baby was born and the pandemic was more under control.
Jump to a year later and we started working with Joan again. This time around, the market was much more competitive, and we were instantly intimidated. I don’t think we would have ended up with a house that we love if it weren’t for Joan’s expertise and amazing work ethic. Every time we saw a place, Joan knew what questions to ask and what we should look for when considering whether to put in an offer. As first-time home buyers we knew we needed to work with someone who knew everything about real estate, and Joan made us feel as though we were able to navigate the market like seasoned pros.
When it was finally time to make an offer, Joan knew exactly what to do. Joan came highly recommended but we were still blown away by her professionalism, kindness, efficiency, and expertise. As first time home buyers, imagine our joy when our very first offer was accepted, beating out multiple other offers. We got the home at list price with seller credit and repairs, and we had keys just over a month after working with Joan!

1) HOME SEARCH - Joan quickly got to know our priorities in terms of price, neighborhoods, lifestyle, tastes, contract terms, and preferences that fit our needs and risk budget. After the initial meeting we knew we could put our complete faith in Joan because she was so knowledgeable. Joan walked us through all the aspects of buying a home, the timeline, contingencies and the escrow process. She would point out details that we wouldn’t have noticed otherwise and even called up each seller’s agent to find out more about the seller’s situation and information that was not listed on the MLS. As first time home buyers our calls would often drag on for over 45 mins each but she never once rushed us and ensured we felt comfortable at every step! Joan always made us feel like we were her top priority; she was so responsive over texts, emails or calls at all times.

2) OFFER - In a hot real estate market, we knew that the difference between an accepted offer could be hours, not days. In every paperwork instance, Joan had the documents pre-drafted to ensure there was no delay, quickly making last minute adjustments at our request. As new buyers with no experience, Joan expertly guided us to make our offer as competitive as possible.

3) ESCROW - As soon as our offer was accepted, Joan immediately lined up inspectors for the home that were professional, courteous and thorough. She project-managed and orchestrated simply every aspect behind the scenes from home viewings to inspection to escrow, ensuring that we always knew the next step ahead and had time to prepare or gather documents. As an experienced seller’s agent with an eye for design, Joan made thoughtful suggestions to improve or update our home throughout the process.
