Derek is a top notch realtor. We quickly became friends through the whole process due to Derek’s personable but professional manner. Derek treated us like we mattered to him as friends first. He listened to our needs and wants and worked within our budget without pushing anything. He is super responsive, courteous and truly advocates for his clients. Most importantly, he never gave up even when the road got rough and stayed positive and encouraging until the end when we all took a win! Working with Derek Williams as a buyers agent has been a complete joy! He is very professional and friendly and puts his clients first.
As a first time home buyer I saw over a dozen properties with him over my housing search and I've learned a lot through our talks during the showings including red or yellow flags on a property or what is also a very nice to have. I appreciated his candid approach on pointing out what might be potential issues to look into or repairs to plan for that I may have missed, but left it up to me if it's a deal breaker or not. I highly recommend working with Derek if you are looking to buy a house!

Long read, but it’s worth it.
We knew Derek through his wonderful wife Emily. They are the owner operators of the day care our children go to. From the get go, my wife and I clicked with them. They are the most welcoming people we have come across. At the tail end of 2020, Derek has expressed that he will be starting in real estate as an agent. Without hesitation, we asked that he’d be our agent. The kicker, homeownership was merely a dream for us. A single mom and an immigrant, thats want me and my wife were. We didn’t have the easiest paths. Off the bat, with zero pressure, Derek had invited me to the rick fuller realty office, with myself having no idea how things went, after a little chit chat and presentation of their “roadmap” I got out of there informed and most importantly, hopeful. He then referred us to Christine Davis, from loan depot. She went over the things we need to do and work on (she definitely deserves a separate review). Fast forward to getting pre-approved, we went to Derek and had him show us properties, and this went on from March to July. He kept telling us, “feel free to reach out to me anytime” and talk about backing that up. We’d reach out to him during odd hours during the day and late in to the night at times, but like clockwork, he was always there for us and our needs. During this “hunt” we’ve probably looked at 30-34 homes, and within hours of letting him know and expressing our interests, we were in these homes. He was always on top of things. He was honest to us, especially when we needed it. With that said, after seeing an incredible amount of homes spanning from Vallejo, Fairfield and most of the contra costa area, we finally just closed on our first home. Through Derek and his team’s diligence and no quit work ethic, this seemingly daunting task wasn’t as bad as we thought it would be. I cannot say that I recommend Derek’s services, because, Basing from our experience, not seeking his services is a disservice to your home buying journey.
