I never leave reviews on anything but I couldn’t get over this. I’m trying to find a rental in Yuba City, and have being trying to contact this property management company for A MONTH! I’ve left numerous messages (including today 02/18/25) because they NEVER ANSWER the phone, but still got NO ANSWER, NOTHING. I wonder why people still use this business to manage their properties since they clearly don’t have any interest in renting out properties. IF I COULD GIVE A ZERO I WOULD!

Do not rent with them, they extremely unprofessional. They hardly ever responded to my emails, never answered my phone calls, and I left voicemails that they never responded to either. I had questions because I was denied and was wondering how I could fix this (because it was any easy fix I never rented before because I lived with my dad, therefore no past rental history). However, they never responded to me. They did respond to my partner by just saying they moved on to the next people. That is very unprofessional, they could have responded to an email or phone call from me. Interesting how they were quick to take my money for the application but not when it came to responding. Seems like they are scamming people.

This was such a horrible experience! Cherylynn Goodman was so rude. Me and my husband have been looking for houses to rent for awhile for us and our daughter. Cheryl showed us a house and we loved it! We asked her while we were there if pets were allowed because we have one dog- a bull terrier. She said yes with a 500 dollar pet deposit which we were fine with. Then we went through the process of applying and paying the application fee. We had also paid an application fee and applied to another house for rent. We got approved for both houses but we chose the one that Goodman Gals approved us for since that house was bigger and closer to work. Thursday before we were supposed to move in Cheryl called my husband and told him that we could come in on Tuesday at 12 pm to pick up keys and we needed to bring In our dog so they could make sure he was not aggressive. I was nervous right away because we have a rescue dog who is fearful of strangers( he probably had an abusive past) We are very careful, we have done behavior therapy with him and he is crate trained, we always crate him when we leave the house or put him in a pen and we have a camera on him. So we brought him in on Tuesday for them to meet and to get the keys to our house. We had reserved the uhaul, and bought a mattress. We had also turned down 2 other rental offers that we were approved for. I entered the office and said hello we are here to pick up keys! Cheryl very rudely replied you are here to sign paperwork then you get your keys. My husband then came in with our dog and Cheryl approached him to pet him. He did not bark, but out of caution I warned her please don't pet him he is fearful of strangers. She immediately was like this is not going to work he can't be on the property he is too much of a liability. We explained to her how careful we are with him he would always be crated if they need to enter the home or if a plumber needs to enter. She said it would be too much of a liability and that she was not comfortable renting the home to us. We were able to get a refund but it was devastating that she was not up front about their pet policy and that we had passed up on other great places and lost money on application fees. Had she told us right up front that she wouldn't accept our dog it would've saved us a lot of time and money. PLEASE DO NOT RENT FROM GOODMAN GALS OF YOU HAVE PETS THEY ARE NOT PET FRIENDLY!!!! --Picture of our dog we rescued him from a horrible abusive situation and tried to give him the best life and are very responsible with him which was verified by our previous landlords.

I can guarantee you they are not operating in accordance with the equal opportunity act. As a property administrator myself, I can confidently say their service is inept and they are not in compliance with providing equal access to housing for all. It’s really unfortunate that in an area where impoverishment and homelessness is so prevalent, you also have to overcome an unnecessary barrier of dealing with rude, unprofessional women whose egos are too big for their own good. I am appalled by the service my daughter and her boyfriend received as brand new renters, seeking to take on the responsibility of their very first apartment. They are hardworking, responsible young adults who were treated with absolutely no dignity or respect. I am grateful my daughter decided not to fall for the ladies power trip and got her money back. I would never recommend their services to any of my local businesses or colleagues. I’m more than certain homeowners would be appalled if they knew how their business’s were being managed. I could go on, but enough said. I would not even give a 1 star review if there was another option.

Look at their reveiws their horrible and you will regret renting here if your stupid enough not to take the warning then im sorry friend but you deserve whatever happens lol don't do it don't even if your desperate.Also when we moved in we had a clogged sink a clogged shower dead cockroaches all over live ones in the cabinets a broken towel rack a leaking window and a broken hall light and we were never informed of any of this prior to moving they got the window and cabinet fixed in a matter of weeks in winter so we had to constantly keep a towel on the window frame and we were told everything was cleaned and there was no signs of a bug infestation. They're borderline slumlords but not even the good kind of slumlords that make it easy for people to find a spot to live. Look at the reviews just believe them please.

I’ve rented with the Goodman Gals for over 3 years. They’re amazing, understanding, and always take care of me. I don’t want to rent from any other property management in town! I had the nightmare of renting with the “big company” locally, and it was a complete nightmare. Luckily, Cheryl and Karen have completely changed my renting experience here, and I won’t go anywhere else.

Would be a "No Star" if I could. Horrible communication. Takes on multiple apps and $40 fees for every adult applying. Can't tell me they're not making their cut off of the fees. Was a little skeptical of all the negative reviews and now I know why. Too bad for the owners of the properties they're supposed to represent.
