We came across Michael through his informative website while searching for the best place to live in Conejo Valley. When we met in person, we were impressed with a Michael’s knowledge of the area, honesty and professionalism.
At the time there were 12 homes for sale in my street and with Michael’s help we were the only ones that sold with multiple offers with the highest price for our floor plan.
Michael came personally to every house showing, every open house and handled the negotiations so strategically and skillfully.

Then, He spent many hours showing us different neighborhoods, homes, and pros and cons of each. When we couldn’t find a house we liked and we were getting impatient and desperate he helped keep us focused, talked us out of bad decisions and when the right house came up he handled the negotiations so skillfully, minimized our exposure to stressful situations and made the entire process as positive as possible.

Michael was not pushy to make a sale and rush the process. Instead, he was and still is a true friend who we trust and will forever be thankful to. It’s not everyday that you find someone who has your interest in heart and is moral and ethical in what they practice. We strongly recommend Michael to anyone who is looking for an agent that they can trust.

Save yourself the time reading this and just hire Michael and you won't regret it, but if you must know some reasons feel free to read my review.

My first email to Michael was at 9pm and he replied within 15 minutes, the longest it ever took Michael to respond to us was 2 hours during a weekend ski vacation for his birthday because he didn't have reception on the slopes.

During our first visit, despite us telling him we likely wouldn't buy for 4-5 months, Michael spent two days showing us properties and taking us on a tour of the area to help us get a feel for the different neighborhoods while learning about what was important to us in a home.  We lived out of state and on multiple occasions Michael visited new listings and sent us video walk throughs pointing out various items he knew from working with us could be concerns, saving us more than a few trips to see houses that looked great in photos but wouldn't have been a good fit for our family.  His responsiveness and dedication to clients is simply incredible.

Michael was always very candid about what homes he thought were overpriced and what he thought would sell quickly while never making us feel pressured to make an offer.  In every step of the process it was clear he was acting in our best interest and not just trying to make a commission.  He even attended every inspection, appraisal, etc. and provided us with instant updates when we were unable to be present.

Buying out of state in an expensive and quick moving market could have driven us crazy, but Michael's experience, calm demeanor and excellent communication gave us confidence at every step that we were in good hands.  I would recommend Michael to anyone and will certainly use him next time we are buying or selling a home.

Michael Rice is the type of agent that we dreamed of having, but didn't know actually existed. His communication skills, patience, knowledge, and overall expertise is unlike anyone else we have ever worked with. We never needed to worry, because we knew Michael was on top of things. He never let us down. He was beyond patient as he went with me from house to house in a variety of cities so that we could find the perfect home for our family. I never felt rushed, or like he had somewhere else to be. He makes you feel like you're his only client (even though I knew that wasn't the case.) He is honest and always steered us in the right direction. If we ever need a real estate agent again, Michael is the only person we will be calling. In 2021, we decided to take the plunge and purchase our first home. While at first we felt like "experts" after years of online Zillowing, we thankfully discovered Michael Rice. His knowledge of the local area immediately helped us narrow our search. But it was his dedication to making sure we were comfortable and confident that we appreciated. He started by helping us understand the basics of getting a mortgage (yes, we needed that) to closing on a house, and to caring for it. He wasn't afraid to give his honest opinion after showings and steered us clear of situations that we are grateful for. Trust is ultimately what you want to find in an agent. And we simply trust Michael Rice. Simple as that. He knows the landscape. He knows virtually every floor plan. And he got to know what we were looking for. And we got it!

Michael is that rare combination of integrity and professionalism.
Plus … he is sincerely just a nice guy who seems well received in the industry.
Many times listing agents asked who ours was and when we mention Michel Rice … they unanimously replied with … "oh such a great guy".

I tend to be a bit thorough and as first time sellers we had many questions.
Michael promptly, patiently, and expertly answered them all from our first conversation until closing.
We started looking at homes months before ours actually sold.
Combined with the 6 months it took to find a new home after the sale and we were looking for quite some time.
We must have seen over 90 houses, with Michael showing us over 40 … making offers on three.

What we liked most about him …
He is patient. He is not a salesman. He presents things as they are and lets you decide if they are right for you.
When showing homes he does not follow behind you from room to room explaining what's great about the house.
Instead he checks out the house himself … looking at things like the HVAC system, closet space and the roof and will tell you what he likes or does not like.
He knows real estate thoroughly and Conejo Valley in particular.

Lastly his website really is a great introduction to the area.
I have turned to it more than once to read about a neighborhood or look up a floor plan.
When he was not available his niece Kendra who is also an agent took over and showed us homes. She has many of the same qualities as Michael and did an excellent job … again knowledgeable and not pushy.

I seriously can not recommend both Michael and Kendra enough.
Although we have no plans on moving in the future if we did … I would not hesitate to use him again.
