This was my first time finding a realtor to sell a house. After interviewing a few different agents, I picked Maya based on her experience, knowledge on the local real estate market and her straightforward approach for selling houses.

Throughout the selling process, Maya was able to provide guidance at every step. She was able to provide me with an initial budget on some minor renovations and stuck very close to it. She was detail oriented, she coordinated with her contractors to help fix many interior and exterior items. Finally, the house staging company she chose made the house looked beautiful!

She even had to help the buyers' agent throughout the offer and escrow process to make sure the lender, the buyers and the buyers' agent were all on the same page. I would like to thank her again and I highly recommend Maya if you are considering selling your house.

I was the trustee of my late grandmother's house and was looking for an agent to handle the Trust sale. I sent Maya an unsolicited email and quickly received a response. When I met her for the initial interview - I knew I found the right agent. She was pleasant, on-time, efficient and highly knowledgeable about the El Cerrito area. She gave me options for investing in the house (e.g. sell as-is, do some minor cleanup, do a major remodel)...and committed to bring her vendors and then to personally project manage whatever level of investment I wanted to make in order to prepare the house for sale. We selected a minor investment level - and Maya handled it all...painting, minor electrical, landscape, cleanup/hauling. She always kept me up to speed...and gave me the choice on how to communicate - phone calls, in-person, texts, emails. She was able to prepare the house and bring it to market within 3 weeks. Her pricing strategy and her personal network produced multiple offers and we ended up selling the house for well over asking price - no contingencies, all cash with a two week close!

All of Maya's efforts were so welcome and needed - since I lived about an hour away and couldn't be at the house to manage its prep. My day job also kept me from dedicating much time to the effort...even though I wanted to be close enough to the details to ensure any money we were spending was worthwhile and that I was maximizing the profit from the house.
With a Trust sale, it can feel overwhelming at first...but yet I felt confident and reassured with Maya at my side - it helped immensely knowing that Maya was experienced with trust sales and able to provide the expertise that I needed. I have used multiple real estate agents in the past to buy and sell houses....but frankly...while those experiences were OK...they did not compare Maya - she was in a league of her own.

I would encourage anyone who is in the market for an agent - especially one in the 510 area code and/or someone who is dealing with a Trust sale to use Maya - you will be happy that you did.

I highly recommend Maya Arechiga as the Realtor to sell your home. As the trustee owner of an El Cerrito home, I contacted Maya to help me sell my Uncle’s house. I was facing the beginning of a foreclosure process from the reverse mortgage company that held the first mortgage on the home. Time was of the essence, and I had little experience with the home selling process.
Maya agreed to meet with me immediately, and spent two hours viewing the home and discussing the situation surrounding the home sale. It was clear from the beginning that Maya was up to the challenge. She exhibited a comprehensive understanding of the local real estate market. She was able to see the potential of the home despite its need for cosmetic repair. Within one day, she had developed a written plan to prepare the home for sale within a very tight time frame to meet the demands from the reverse mortgage company. She discussed potential repairs and provided advice on the relative value of each. Her guidance helped me decide what upgrades were cost effective and should be done before listing. She was understanding of my concerns about cost, and devoted considerable time and effort to ensure the upgrades were performed within the budget we had established.
Maya also provided me with a referral to a company providing bridge loans. This referral allowed me to arrange a bridge loan that refinanced the home and removed an aggressive reverse mortgage company from the situation. This brought me significant peace of mind.
Based on her understanding of the local market, Maya knew that completing repairs and upgrades quickly was important. She utilized a team of local contractors to remodel, paint, carpet, stage, and landscape the home. The quality of this team’s work and her coordination of their scheduling was spectacular. When the work was complete, the 45 year old house had been transformed and family members were amazed at what had been accomplished. The home sold within 2 weeks of listing, and at a price that more than justified the upgrade investment.
Throughout the process, Maya was always available to answer my questions and she regularly contacted me to advise how things were progressing. She has an engaging personality, and clearly loves her work. I always felt like her #1 client even though I know she was working with others. I definitely look forward to working with her in the future and would highly recommend her to others looking for an expert to guide them through the buying and selling of a home.
