I am a totally novice homebuyer who knows as little as is possible about the real estate industry as I can manage, but I DO know about my experiences and I’d like to talk about one of them. I’m about as hands off as a person can be regarding real estate. I think that I am a person who could easily be confused about the process and be put in a vulnerable position or taken advantage of in some way. However, none of that happened because I met Steve Luzzi through a random, everyday mailer advertisement. I was interested in a VA refinance IRRRL deal. So, I spoke with Steve, who took the time to talk to me and figure out why I was refinancing and what my expectations and goals in the deal were. I didn’t really have a realistic idea of my situation and Steve helped me to understand where I stood now and what he could offer me now and it wasn’t the deal I was looking for, so I stated as much and Steve said, hey, I’ll keep an eye on the market for you, I’ve got you on my radar and when things look better, I’ll reach out. I didn’t really think much of it, surely every mortgage broker says that, right? Well, Steve did reach out a couple times to see how I was doing and during that time, I thought I’d check out 1RHM and see what kind of reviews they had and what their BBB profile looks like. Idk, what it looks like now, but I could not dig up a single unhappy experience involving Steve Luzzi or 1RHM. This summer, I happened to reach out to Steve to talk about possibly refinancing next spring and I wanted to get his opinion on where things were headed because at this point, I was feeling pretty good about Steve and 1RHM. Well, Steve managed to get me a deal during a temporary dip in rates and instead of the half point interest rate reduction we were looking for, we managed to drop a full point, saving us considerably more, sooner. Having squeaked into our home using a rate buydown program, our mortgage payments had already gone up once and would go up once more next summer, but Steve got us out of that and into a much more comfortable mortgage payment. Steve was also friendly, caring, patient, forthcoming, and believable. I have already referred my brother to Steve, but Steve is not licensed in my brother’s state, so he got a second referral, but I feel that Steve is a stand up guy and I would be inclined to attach preference to one of his referrals over anyone else I know in the industry. If you have the opportunity to choose your mortgage loan officer, Steve Luzzi is a sure bet. Also, a special shout out to Maria Quinonez, Steve’s processor, for her helpful instructions and easy communications in getting certain docs where they needed to be. You guys have been great!
